Development and design

The program drew on South Korean K9 technology while incorporating Turkish-made weapon and electronic systems. Later Fırtına II development further modernized protection, electronics, and crew systems. 1, 2

Fırtına has been produced in significant numbers for Turkish Land Forces and has seen operational deployment in regional conflicts and border operations. 1, 2
