KAPLAN-20 / KAPLAN-30 Family

Development and requirement

FNSS developed the KAPLAN series to move its tracked armored-vehicle experience into a new generation with modular protection, digital subsystems, and greater growth capacity. ^{1, 2}

Design and battlefield role

KAPLAN-20 emphasizes amphibious mobility and a lower weight class, while KAPLAN-30 increases protected volume and can support heavier turrets and mission equipment. Both are intended to maneuver with main battle tanks. ^{1, 2}

The vehicles have been presented in multiple configurations, underscoring that KAPLAN is a platform family rather than a single fixed turret-and-hull combination. ^{1, 2}

Archive boundaries

For the archive, cannon-armed troop-carrying configurations are IFVs. Other KAPLAN derivatives are classified separately by mission to avoid turning a shared chassis name into a catch-all category. ^{1, 2}
