Museum story

The Armed Forces Museum was established as Albania’s national center for collecting, preserving, researching, and presenting military heritage. Its location in Bërzhitë supports a larger campus-style presentation with space for indoor galleries, ceremonial functions, and outdoor equipment.

The Ministry of Defence describes the institution as both a national and international educational center. That mission places Albanian military history within a broader framework of public education, armed-forces heritage, and official remembrance.

Collection character

The museum holds weapons, uniforms, documents, flags, medals, photographs, personal objects, and technical equipment spanning Albania’s military past. Outdoor displays extend the collection into heavy weapons and vehicles.

Current official English-language sources do not yet provide a precise model-level armored-vehicle catalog. Reciprocal Armor Archive links will be added only when the museum publishes exact vehicle identities or a comparable authoritative inventory becomes available.

What to expect

The museum is intended as a chronological introduction to Albanian military history and the development of the modern Armed Forces. The mix of indoor artifacts and outdoor equipment rewards visitors who allow time for both parts of the site.

Foreign visitors should not assume same-day walk-in access. Confirm the advance-request process, identification requirements, opening schedule, group arrangements, language support, and photography policy directly with the museum or Ministry of Defence.
